I DID IT!!!!

Hi Everyone

I thought it was about time I let you know that I completed the Inca Trail!

The whole group arrived in Peru safely with the first night being spent in Lima (I do not recommend this! It resembled a war torn country).

The next morning we took a quick flight to Cusco where we would spend the next couple of days acclimatising and getting settled before starting the trail. The day before the trek we met our lovely guides Eddy and Valentine who took us all up into the hills for our acclimatisation walk. We walked from Tambo Machay, pronounced tanpu mach'ay in Quechua which means resting place and was located on the royal path to Machu Picchu.

We then walked through the Hills above Cusco looking at more Inca sites before eventually arriving at the major ruin above Cusco of Sacsayhuaman. This ruin is built of huge stones that fit together perfectly with no mortar.

After a tour round Sacsayhuaman and some good group photos....we returned to Cusco to get an early night before a very early start to drive three hours to the start of the trek.

Nice early start with breakfast at about 5am, three hour bus drive to arrive at KM82 where we start the trek. we stopped in Ollantaytambo which was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti who conquered the region. It is a beautiful little place with lovely stalls and its own fair share of Inca Ruins.

We met our team of Chasquis at KM82 who were amazing and looked after us all so well throughout the next four days, carrying all our stuff, tents, food etc and most of the time they run past us not breaking a sweat and only wearing sandals - really putting us sweaty tired people to shame! after showing our passes and getting passport's stamped we crossed the bridge onto the trail and that is when the fun started!

The first part of the trek was not too bad (compared to what was coming) and followed a nice path along the raging Urubamba River, stopping at little stands selling fruit and and drinks on the way. We stopped for lunch where our Chasquis prepared a delicious meal and we all sat down for a little rest before a "gentle" climb to our first campsite at Wayllabamba. Tomorrow we would find out that the Peruvian translation of "gradual" is VERY different to ours! Gradual in Peru means steep! Peruvian flat means steep and steep means nearly impossible!

Our second day was by far the toughest! After waking at about 5am, having a lovely breakfast of porridge and bananas, toast and of course some coca tea we set off....

We had to climb from 2700m to Dead Woman's Pass at 4200m and it was tough to say the least. The path is narrow and very steep with a few steps slipped in for good measure, we passed through grassland, cloud forest and pasture before stopping for lunch. I found this really tough and thanks to our guide from Discover adventure, Ritchie, he managed to control my breathing and save me from any altitude sickness. After taking it slowly and steadily, we reached the lunch spot. After about 3 mugs of coca tea I felt refreshed and ready for the nightmare of an afternoon!

The afternoon was slow due to the steep path and number of steps and the pissing rain did not help at all. The first half of our group got to Dead Woman's Pass first. We joined them slightly later in the pouring rain for a lovely photo!

After reaching the top of Dead Woman's Pass we had the joy of 500m of steps down to our camp site at Pacamayo where I was thrilled to be able to get changed and enjoy a cup of Milo (hot chocolate), popcorn and biscuits!

Day three is by far the longest day and we walked for around 12 hours! Setting off early to make sure we got to camp before dark that night, the path starts off with some nice Peruvian Gradual! We stop a few times to see some lovely ruins on the way and soon approach the second highest pass at 4000m with steps leading to the top and down the other side. By now I am a whizz with my sticks and no longer feel like I'm going to fall on my bum! We pass the Sayacmara ruin and continue along a nice steady path and through a cave to reach lunch. Lunch was lovely again and the coca tea really helped (by now I am on about 3 cups of coca tea at each meal!!) After lunch we go down yet more steps to the ruins of Puyupatamarca where we have a little sit down and Eddy gives us a good talk about the site. From here it is all downhill to our final campsite of Winay Wayna. The first section of the group went to see an Inca site before camp, but myself, Jen and Richard along with Ritchie carried onto camp, got changed and enjoyed a well deserved bottle of Cusquena lager! About four bottles later I was feeling ready for tomorrow!

We woke up at about 4am, had a quick breakfast and set off in the dark and rain towards Machu Picchu. After a couple of hours of walking and now being soaked to the skin. The path is reasonably easy compared to what we have done already, with some steep sets of steps in between and a few very narrow paths. Thank goodness it was cloudy and I wasn't able to see the drop down to the Urubamba River! After climbing the vertical flight of steps known as the gringo killer we reached the sun gate!

The feeling was amazing to know that we had all made it and now the real excitement of seeing Machu Picchu was just around the corner. As we reached the top, the sun started to shine and after about 40 minutes of walking down a nice path, passing sacred rocks and small ruins on the way we turned the corner to be met by this amazing view.............................

After an amazing tour round Machu Picchu and some wonderful photos, we had a lovely lunch and then a few of us returned to Aguas Calientes by bus (bloody terrifying ride!) and found a lovely little bar. Few Cusquena later as a celebration of course and we were all feeling very happy with ourselves! Mo, who got the pleasure of sharing a tent and a hotel room with me every night even felt the need to do a little dance and she had only been drinking Peruvian coffee!

After getting the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, we caught a bus to Cusco. Being a very good sleeper, I fell straight to sleep, then woke up as we arrived outside the hotel. Grabbed my bags and before I could even get into bed was fast asleep!

The next day I woke up with a very painful knee so one of the Jim's in our group kindly did some acupuncture to try and improve it and it worked wonders. We then popped over to the hotel opposite to visit a drop in group for local children and meet Robyn from SAS travel who runs the group. She is amazing and really does a fantastic job with the kids. As most of us didn't want to carry extra weight back we left all our medical type stuff including painkillers, anti bacterial stuff, baby wipes etc which was all donated to the hospital. Most of us also left sleeping mats, walking poles and other equipment which was given to our team of Chasquis.

The rest of Saturday was spent doing a bit of shopping, having a delicious lunch and then getting ready for a night out in Cusco as a celebration. After a long awaited week my curly hair was transformed back to its lovely straight hair thanks to Mo's good thinking and bringing her GHD's. Lots of Cusquena, sambuca and dancing later we all crashed.....ready for the 32 hour journey home!

I must say this has been the most amazing trip and it is thanks to all the people who were involved. Words really cannot describe how beautiful the trail is and I will most definitely be back in the very near future to do it all over again.....dragging some lovely friends with me!

If you fancy going to Peru or doing the trail the only companies you should consider using are Discover Adventure based in UK who work with you and help support charities and SAS Travel Peru.

Eventually the day has arrived....

Very good morning to everyone!

I apologise for any spelling mistakes but I'm writing this blog entry on my phone en route to Heathrow!

I am so excited today has eventually arrived and I am determined to make it to machu picchu however hard it may be!

I would like to thank jez dance, danni loader and caroline and robbie hicks for sponsoring me over the last two days. Also a massive thank you to Verity Edwards-Flaherty for sponsoring me a second time!!!

I will try and keep you all updated whilst I'm out there but it really does depend on how easy it is to get internet access!

Please don't stop sponsoring me yet......its more important to do it now! These charities are really amazing and deserve so much support.

I know and have known quite a few people who have battled with cancer and still are and if it wasn't for the care and support of marie curie cancer nurses many people would not have the strength to battle this dreadful disease.

Please show your support and go to www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge or www.justgiving.com/Caroline-smith4 and sponsor me even if it is just £1 it really will make a difference!!!

THANK YOU for all your help and support so far! I am so amazed and proud of everyone who has helped and I am so grateful!

Final Five Day countdown

Hi

I have had a busy week with Racing and people staying at our house topped off with a weekend of last minute shopping for Peru!

I would like to thank Guy Disney for sponsoring me at the weekend. Guy is taking part in the Walking with the Wounded trek to the North Pole and he sets off on Thursday. This is an amazing challenge and one that I hope everyone will support. To find out more about the walk then please take a look at the website and show your support for our armed forces by sponsoring them too http://walkingwiththewounded.org.uk/

I would also like to thank one of our house guests who kindly sponsored me on Friday after the Gold Cup - I suspect this only happened due to the amount of alcohol consumed but its all for charity so I happily took the money! Thank you Liam Cowing!

Finally, my last thank you goes to Gemma Wiseman and her amazing team at Foundation. Gemma was amazing throughout the preparations for the fashion show and showed so much help and support. She kindly sponsored me and I urge you all to go check out her shop, Foundation. There is one in Stow and one in Cheltenham and it is the most amazing boutique shop stocking the most beautiful handbags, clothes, shoes, accessories and homewares! Foundation was the winner of the Womenswear Retailer of the Year 2010 at the Drapers Awards and they definitely deserve it! Please take a look at their website or pop into one of their shops if you are passing - you will not be disappointed!www.shopfoundation.com

I would really appreciate any last minute sponsorship - there is only 5 days to go until I set off so please please show your support now!!

THANK YOU

The Sun Has Got His Hate On......!!

Afternoon Everyone

I thought I would give you a quick update on the preparations so far! We have now received the details of the emergency procedures just in case we become the victims of a natural disaster (fingers crossed this will not happen!) but it is making everything feel very close now!

It is just over Two weeks to go and I am trying to be very good.....I had salad for lunch and I have stopped drinking coffee for the day and have gone back onto water. Marti and I did a bit of flat work in the school this morning - he decided that sunbathing was a much better idea and in the end my legs got a great workout as we had a few disagreements over whether we were cantering or not!

I will be two doing canters up the gallop in the morning and then if he behaves I may treat him to a day out in the sunshine.

Its pancake day today so I will be having pancakes for dinner (after my run round the schooling field of course!) Tilly is a great running companion and has now got the hang of running next to me and not tripping me up!

An update on fundraising......I would like to thank all the lovely people who sponsored me yesterday......Emma Spiers, Catherine Pritchard, Laura Davis, Rowena Edwards (who is doing the race for life in aid of cancer research uk so good luck to her too!), Maddie Webster whose birthday it was yesterday and also a big thank you to Lara Strutt who saw Nell with two of our horses at Ffos Las and gave him some money for me too!

I am so pleased with how well everything is going and would really like to beat my target in the next few days. Please tell your friends about my fundraising and see if they would like to sponsor me too and if you haven't sponsored me yet then it's so simple.......just go to www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge

Less than 3 Weeks to go.......

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you all had a really lovely sunny weekend!

My weekend was lovely. It was my last weekend off before I go to Peru as I am working for the next two. I had a lovely lie in on Saturday morning, a quick trip to Burford Garden Centre for a coffee and then a nice sunny ride on Saturday afternoon. Sunday the horses got a day out in the sun and I walked the dogs, went for a run and spring cleaned the house! I have also packed my Peru bag with all the things I have so far!!!

I cannot believe there is less than 3 weeks to go - the time has flown by so quickly it is unbelievable and I know the next couple of weeks will be gone in a flash!

I have had some lovely people sponsor me this weekend and now I am so so close to my target! So I would like to thank Josh Harrison and Katy Hill for sponsoring me! THANK YOU! Also, an extra Thank you to Katy as she is being entrusted to ride my horse, Marti while I am away! I hope he will be well behaved and she enjoys it!

Training needs to step up a notch now so I am running around our schooling field a few times every night......it has been suggested that I run round the circular gallop but I am not too keen on that idea!

I know you will all think I am begging but please please sponsor me.....this really will be the toughest thing I have ever done and I want to make sure those charities get the money they deserve!

Or email me with your pledge at Caralaz19@yahoo.co.uk

I am so overwhelmed and grateful for every one's support and help!

FOUR WEEKS TO GO!!

Hi

I hope you have all had a lovely week and have an even lovelier weekend planned!

The last two weeks have been busy for me with work, home, horses and fundraising and I feel really tired now! My horse, Marti, is not very fit so he has been put into a strict fitness regime, which to be honest doesnt seem to have bothered him at all, but it means I am riding him every single day - no matter what! So I have cantered him once followed by flat work in the school, and a few hacks every day.

I must admit, I feel much better for it and Marti obviously does too - he has helped my fitness levels - and he is now behaving like a complete angel!

I went to a Power Plate trial last night at the gym in Upper Rissington and it was AMAZING! I can highly highly recommend it. If you haven't heard about Power Plate before it is basically a piece of equipment with a base that vibrates very quickly! You can adjust the times and vibrations and you use the power plate to do different exercises which wouldn't normally be that hard - but this makes them 3 times more intense! After half an hour I really felt it and have booked in for 10 sessions in the next four weeks! Lets hope I am fit and toned ready for Peru four weeks tomorrow.

Time has flown so quickly and I really am amazed at how quickly it has gone. Four weeks tomorrow I will be setting of for Peru and the task of trekking the Inca Trail.

I now a few people I have spoken to have asked me how many miles I will be walking - the answer is about 26 miles. This doesn't seem like a lot at all but when you are battling with heat, altitude and millions of steps and rugged ground it makes it really hard work.

I really hope I make it to the top and succeed in raising lots of money for charity - please keep telling people about the trek and what we are doing. Every single penny makes a huge difference to these charities so please please take 2 minutes to sponsor me!

You can sponsor me in person by calling me/emailling or popping into the office in Bourton!

Or online at my justgiving pages
www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge

or

www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Smith4

Please please do help me if you can I am so hugely grateful for everyone's help and support!!

Have a wonderful weekend

Final preparations...

Good Afternoon!

This week has seemed to go very slowly for some reason.....! But the weekend is approaching which means FIVE weeks tomorrow I will be on a plane to Peru!

I really cannot believe that it has come round so quickly and although slightly apprehensive, I am thoroughly looking forward to it! I know it will be very tough and I am sure I will not be prepared but it is a once in a lifetime experience and I am going to enjoy every second! I will make sure I take lots of photos to add to my blog on my return!

I have been sponsored by lots of lovely lovely girls this week......Carrie Massingham who is the best equine dentist in the area - she is highly recommended! Check out her website http://www.the-horses-mouth.co.uk

Jane Lloyd who I have known for years also sponsored me and has come along to every event I have organised, be it as a guest or a helper so I am hugely grateful!

And finally, Alicia Rowley who owns Sweet Berries Patisserie has also sponsored me! She makes the most delicious wonderful cakes you have ever tasted so if you are near Bourton I recommend you pop in and treat yourself! You can also look at her website http://www.sweetberriespatisserie.co.uk/ and she would happily make cakes to order for those special occasions!

Thank you to you all, you really are making the training and the blisters I will no doubt endure worth it!

6 weeks to go....

Hi Everyone

I can't believe it is just over 6 weeks until we set off for Peru. Time seems to have gone so quickly and I am sure the next few weeks will fly by.

Training is going ok - helped along by leaflet drops at work so walking round all our local villages has added a bit of extra walking to my weekly regime!

Just have the last few jabs to have at the end of the month and then I am all set and ready to go!

I am so thrilled with everyone's support and help and just need to keep raising money until I set off. It really is so quick and easy by doing it through my justgiving pages www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge or www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Smith4

These charities really do deserve people's help and support and considering I have never slept in a tent before trekking the Inca Trail and camping each night in sub zero temperatures is going to be a real challenge for me.

Please Please help!

Thank you

54 days to go!

Good Afternoon - I hope you had a lovely weekend. After many months of racehorses going off to the racecourse and not winning, my boyfriend had the pleasure of leading up a winner at Cheltenham on Saturday, only problem was - its wasn't one of our horses!! But he enjoyed being in the winners enclosure none the less.

I have been walking between 5 - 8 miles every weekend but failed dismally this weekend and didn't walk at all. Dreadful I know, but I worked on Saturday morning, rode my horse (who was naughty) on Sunday afternoon and had the biggest lie in on Sunday morning. A normal lie on for me is no later than 9am - but I managed 11.15am on Sunday! The German shepherds didn't even wake me up which is a first!!

I had the joyful visit to the doctors on Friday for the second batch of jabs for Peru. Tetanus and polio boosters this time which were nasty and I still have a lump and bruise on my arm. Still contemplating whether to have my rabies jab or not....moving towards not!

I had a lovely weekend with lots of sponsorship coming in from lots of people including Jo McLaughlin, Alexander Cole, Val Davidson, Katie MacDonald and Alex McEntyre. So a huge thank you to all those lovely people and all the people who have already sponsored me.

I am under no illusion about how tough the Inca trail is going to be and it is approaching so quickly! I really cannot do it without the amazing support I am getting from everyone and really hope I can exceed the £850 target on my justgiving pages soon!

If you haven't sponsored me yet please please do so - it is hugely appreciated

Thanks

67 days to go....

Good Afternoon

There are only 67 days to go until we all set off for Machu Picchu!

The organising has stepped up a level and we are now at the point where the travel company are applying for trail passes, booking flights and we have to sort the remaining dreadful jabs!!

I really am not a fan of injections, I cope, but I can't look at what is happening and the thought of having another 7 injections is not very nice!

Sunday was a day full of exercise.....I rode my horse, Marti, in the morning. He has been enjoying the last four weeks of no exercise due to the snow and ice. I find it a lot safer and easier to just give him time off in dreadful weather. He has a tendency to spook and be very strong in the most awkward of situations! Sunday was the second time he had been ridden in four weeks and he behaved very well. Very strong but well behaved! I got home, treated myself to a sausage sandwich and then myself, my sister and my Mum took four of our dogs out for a very long walk.

After about 7 miles we got back home and I felt surprisingly well. I know the Inca trail will be a lot harder especially as we are trekking at altitude but a few more 7-10 mile walks can be squeezed in during the next 67 days so I am a bit more hopeful that I will reach the top!

Now, its not long to go so I am stepping up my sponsorship campaign.....if you haven't sponsored me yet or would like to sponsor me again please please either send me a cheque in the post, pop into the office during the week or sponsor me online through my justgiving page www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge.

Every single penny makes a huge difference, so if you can only sponsor me a £1 that will make a difference. No amount is too small or too large! Please do this good deed and dig deep and sponsor me now!

Trust me, it will be money well spent as I will be spending four days sleeping in a tent with no electricity, running water, phone, e-mail or internet and those of you who know me will know that this will be harder than you think! Especially as I have never been camping in my life!

Just a reminder, sponsorship can be by post, in person or online www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge

THANK YOU so much for all your help and support so far!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and the snow didn't cause too much hassle.

I spent a lot of time walking about in my walking boots in the snow and now they really are very comfortable - the snow seemed to help with my training and I soon got used to walking around in it!

Christmas this year was at our house and I cooked lunch with no problems! Unfortunately though, New Year was a let down as I got flu and spent about 6 days asleep! My training has slowed up because of this and I still have a terrible cough but hopefully I will be back on track soon.

Due to all the snow and ice we have had my horse, Marti, hasn't been ridden for about a month. He has had a few days out in his field and I have now started lungeing him and will probably get on him again this weekend - fingers crossed he behaves!

Anyway, I have received lots of sponsorship over the Christmas holidays and I would like to say a huge thank you to all those people who have sponsored me so far! Every penny really does count and even if you can only afford to sponsor me a £1 that will make a difference to Marie Curie Cancer Care or Lionheart.

It is about 11 weeks to go until we set off for Peru, so the time is flying by. If you would like to sponsor me before I go please please go to my justgiving page www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge to donate to Marie Curie Cancer Care or if you would like to support Lionheart then go to www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Smith4

Thank you so much!

Season of Goodwill

Hello Everyone

The Season of Goodwill is fast approaching and I must say I have received a number of wonderful and very generous sponsors over the last week or so!

Most people have been sponsoring me through my justgiving page but I will also take sponsorship myself!

I am so thrilled with how supportive everyone has been it is great! The patisserie opposite the office where I work is taking part in the Victorian Evening this evening and they are kindly donating all the money from their "Guess the Weight of the Cake" competition to my fundraising efforts! Such a kind gesture and the patisserie is amazing so I highly suggest that if any of you are in Bourton-on-the-Water soon you pay Sweet Berries Patisserie a visit! A place most definitely not to be missed!

My walking boots had been worn a few times but spent a while sat in my utility....but ever since the arrival of the snow and ice I have not taken them off my feet and I think they are now well and truly worn in! I absolutely hate getting cold feet and after riding out one morning before work last week in the freezing cold my feet felt like they were going to fall off! My toes were so painful that I resorted to three pairs of socks and my lovely walking boots! I must admit at first I did not like them but now they are incredibly comfy!

Anyway, I hope you are all getting in the Festive mood and enjoying the run up to Christmas... I absolutely love Christmas and simply cannot wait - lets hope it's a white one!

If you have any spare money at all in the coming weeks please do log onto my Justgiving page and sponsor me! ALL money raised will go to two really worthy charities and trust me I am putting in the hard work by getting fit for my challenge!

HUGE thanks to all those people who have supported me so far!

And the pain begins....

Good Afternoon All

Last week I decided to start my training for Peru! This started off well, I rode out Monday morning and then did a Stretch and Tone Class on Monday night. This class was BRILLIANT and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't too energetic but I really did feel like I was tone every muscle possible!

Tuesday morning I had no pain at all and decided to ride out again - only had a slight aching when I was flying up the gallops on my horse, Marti, and had to pull him up at the top.

Wednesday was my day off! Thursday, again I rode out but only a leisurely canter! Followed by my first experience of Spinning on Thursday night!

It was bloody hard work and I am still feeling the pain this Monday morning! I do think I was a little adventurous and went for the hour class! I am considering doing it again this week but if I do it will be for 45 mins and no longer! If I can't walk again on Friday I think Spinning will have to be taken out of the training schedule!

My boots are gradually being broken in and the pins and needles sensation has now gone and they are starting to feel quite comfortable! I find it a little odd wearing very tight fitting boots as I am normally in my Dubarrys or my riding boots outside.

Anyway, I would like to say a few MASSIVE thank yous to the lovely people who have been sponsoring me this week - Cris, Bennett, Stewart and Rob all kindly sponsored me over the weekend and I am Hugely grateful. All your support will really spur me on when I am no doubt having a tough day walking the Inca Trail!

Sorry for lack of posting.....

Hi Everyone

HUGE apologies for the lack of blogging recently...lots of things seemed to get in the way but hopefully I will be back to my normal blogging self now!

I would firstly like to say a huge thank you to absolutely everyone who has supported me so far! The kind messages have been outstanding and really make me want to achieve this even more now!

I sat down and watched Fearne Cotton and Denise Van Outen trek the Inca Trail last week on TV. They were joined by a small group of women who have or had breast cancer and they decided to walk the Inca Trail in aid of Breast Cancer Care. The courage and determination was amazing and it really made me realise how tough this task is going to be but also how it will be worth it if I make it to the top!

My lovely Mum bought me my walking boots for my Birthday two weeks ago and I have been wearing them around the house breaking them in - I can now wear them out and get them really worn in ready for March.

It seems like such a long time ago that I signed up for this challenge but the time has flown and all the money I raise has to be handed in in January so not long to go at all! PLEASE PLEASE sponsor me by clicking on one of the following links:

www.justgiving.com/Cazsperuchallenge (Marie Curie Cancer Care)

www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Smith4 (Lionheart)

Every penny you donate will go to helping those people who really need our help and support at the moment.

Please sponsor me and leave a message of encouragement on my Justgiving page!

Thank you!

Touch of Pink Ball...HUGE success!

Good Morning Everyone!

HUGE apologies for not writing sooner but I have been very busy sorting out all the auction lots that sold at the Touch of Pink Ball.

The Ball was an absolutely brilliant night and a huge success...the auction alone raised a massive £2907 all for charity so I was thrilled.

The night was great fun and I really hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

I keep getting asked if I am going to be organising anymore events and at this moment in time I don't think I will be no doubt if I get bored over the next few weeks there may be a last minute change of heart!

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended the ball or bought something in the auction...i would also like to say an even bigger thank you to all the lovely people who donated lots to the auction - there is no way we could have raised this money without you!

If you haven't helped out so far then please please sponsor me by going to one of my justgiving pages!

www.justgiving.com/cazsperuchallenge

or

www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Smith4

Both charities I am supporting do the most amazing things for people in need and should be supported so much. Marie Curie Cancer Care will undoubtedly help someone you know at some point in your life. When I think about it I have known more than 7 people who have suffered from or died from cancer and that is quite a lot considering I am only 24. Of these people they were all family members or very close friends.

Please do your bit to help those that suffer every year and fight to live. Even if its only 1p.......every penny counts!

HUGE thank you again!!!

I am so proud of everyone who has supported me!

Hope to see you at the Ball - few tickets left so if you want to bid on one of these lots book your tickets now!!

WOW......

Hello Everyone

Well what a day...it started off dreadfully with two of my tables for the Ball cancelling! I was stressed anyway but when that happened I had a bit of a panic!

My lovely friends are all out selling more tickets though so hopefully we will be sold out by the 25th! Not long now, so fingers crossed.

However, the potential good news is I may have had a HUGE lot donated to the auction - I won't be revealing the details until I know 100% for sure which will be tomorrow! But it is one worth bidding on, I promise!!

If any of you would like to come to the ball or know anyone who would like to come to the Ball, please get in touch - call 01451 844084 to book tickets!

Thanks

Lovely donations..

Afternoon Everyone!

This is going to be a quick blog post as I need to dash.....have an evening of birthday cake eating and aunt sally playing to enjoy!

I would just like to say a massive, huge thank you to Choc and Meally Thornton for donating my most recent lot to the auction. They have given me a lovely painting of Choc on My Way De Solzen along with a selection of drawings of Cheltenham Races and photos of Choc on other horses including Ballycassidy. It is really kind of them to help me out and I wish Choc a speedy recovery and wish them both luck with baby bump!

I am thrilled with how generous and kind everyone has been so far and everyone's donations make the task of trekking the 26 miles and climbing the 4000m of the Inca Trail a little more bearable. I think the camping may take a little getting used to but I am determined to get to Machu Picchu as so many people have shown their support!

Thank you again to everyone who has donated, bought tickets to the Ball and past events and sponsored me so far! Please Please keep helping me!

Have a lovely evening!
